  3. After our Amigas all switched to 1997 with no trouble (heh heh!), we are
  4. taking another stab at the PC squad.  I recently sat in on a talk that
  5. was taking part in a college course.  I went in to watch as I was talking
  6. about broadcasting laws to a bunch of media students later that day.

  8. So I was in the main hall, and just having a wander, when I overheard a
  9. couple of people who produce the Open University programme on BBC 2
  10. about 5 AM (great time slot guys!).  They were talking about the next
  11. release of Windows, and saying that Win 97 will be revolutionary.

  13. The point that made me completely blow up with laughter was when the
  14. following conversation started up, when one of the students asked the
  15. Open University people:

  17. "Yeah, I've got a CD-ROM machine with Windows 95, it's wicked, it can run
  18. 2 versions of Word at once, but it crashes if I have 3 open as it slows
  19. right down.  "

  21. then the man said:

  23. "You need to have about 16 megs to even attempt to multitask."

  25. What an idiot.  256K can multitask on an Amiga, sod 16 Megs, an Amiga with
  26. 16 megs could run about 8 copies of Wordworth 5.  Yet, we score again.
