- After our Amigas all switched to 1997 with no trouble (heh heh!), we are
- taking another stab at the PC squad. I recently sat in on a talk that
- was taking part in a college course. I went in to watch as I was talking
- about broadcasting laws to a bunch of media students later that day.
-
- So I was in the main hall, and just having a wander, when I overheard a
- couple of people who produce the Open University programme on BBC 2
- about 5 AM (great time slot guys!). They were talking about the next
- release of Windows, and saying that Win 97 will be revolutionary.
-
- The point that made me completely blow up with laughter was when the
- following conversation started up, when one of the students asked the
- Open University people:
-
- "Yeah, I've got a CD-ROM machine with Windows 95, it's wicked, it can run
- 2 versions of Word at once, but it crashes if I have 3 open as it slows
- right down. "
-
- then the man said:
-
- "You need to have about 16 megs to even attempt to multitask."
-
- What an idiot. 256K can multitask on an Amiga, sod 16 Megs, an Amiga with
- 16 megs could run about 8 copies of Wordworth 5. Yet, we score again.
